Ritual Heaps, the project of Wellington-based artist Bill Scott, released the six-track album Work in 2023 through the Language Instinct label. Originally appearing as a digital release, Work situates itself within a broader body of output that includes related titles like Work Surplus and Subjective Device. The album’s structure relies on shifting textures and atmospheric tension, moving from the rhythmic undercurrents of Beat Crown for Shamhat to the expansive, layered drones of its closing movements.
