Compliance Structures

Michigan-based experimental artist Opal Vessel continues a prolific output in 2025 with the release of Compliance Structures. Transitioning from a background in vaporwave and ambient drum and bass, the artist has established a significant presence in the dark ambient scene with a discography now exceeding sixty releases (;). This six-track album, arriving in November 2025, follows other recent works such as Torture Practices and Bound in Flesh. The record spans just over one hour, delivering a sonic profile described as dense and oppressive droning dark ambient. Available as a digital download and a limited edition DIY cassette, the release is hand-dubbed and shipped personally by the artist. Emphasizing an organic aesthetic, the project features handmade cut-and-paste collage artwork created without the use of digital editing software or artificial intelligence.
