The Yasu Ether Project

The Yasu Ether Project is a posthumous 2026 album from Mount Shrine, the influential dark ambient project of the late Brazilian musician César Alexandre. Released by the Oregon-based label Cryo Chamber, this eight-track collection preserves an earlier, obscure work that originally had limited availability on the artist’s own digital platforms. Alexandre, who was based in Rio de Janeiro and passed away in 2021, was known for a prolific output that bridged the gap between meditative drone and cinematic soundscapes. The album is defined by its spacious compositions, blending soft atmospheres and deep bass tones with a distinct layer of analog hiss and static. Field recordings of natural environments are woven throughout the tracks, providing a sense of organic warmth that contrasts with the project's characteristic melancholy.
