Paradise Now + A Limb - Transonic Lab Residency (EP#1)

Released in 2021, Transonic Lab Residency (EP#1) is a collaborative project featuring Paradise Now, A Limb, Biba Sheikh, and Isa✧Belle. The four-track album emerged from creative sessions at Transonic Lab, the sound production unit of Transcultures, a Belgian center for digital and sound cultures. Philippe Franck, performing as Paradise Now, leads the project with his extensive background in sound design and intermedia art, often blending environmental recordings with electronic textures. He is joined by the Palestinian-American poet Biba Sheikh, whose vocal performances provide a narrative layer to the atmospheric drones created alongside regular collaborator Isa✧Belle and the electronic artist A Limb. Positioned within the field of contemporary sound art, the release emphasizes immersive soundscapes and the integration of spoken word into minimalist sonic architecture. This first installment of the residency series documents the specific experimental synergy of the Brussels-based underground scene. The work serves as both a documentation of artistic research and a formal exploration of hybrid electronic textures.
