Norman, Oklahoma-based interdisciplinary artist Justin Wallis returns to his BIRD DRUGS moniker for the 2026 full-length release, ODE TO DRUGS. Wallis, known for blending sonic experimentation with haunting video collage, continues to refine a self-described aesthetic of anti-ambient softcore noise. This eight-track album follows a prolific period for the project, arriving after previous works such as silent army, Nothing is Real, and HERESY. The release situates itself within the intersection of dark ambient and deathdream, a subgenre defined by lo-fi textures and themes of anxiety and decay.
