Hapax

Released in late 2024, Hapax is a comprehensive 27-track compilation issued by the Abidjan-based net-label Nostalgie de la Boue. Curated by Tristan Koreya to mark the imprint’s 200th release, the album functions as a showcase for artists appearing on the label for the first time. The collection spans a wide array of experimental disciplines, including dark ambient, drone, musique concrète, and electroacoustic music. It features a global assembly of contributors such as the long-running British project O Yuki Conjugate, Canadian artist AJ Cornell, and Swedish sound designer Sonja Tofik. Most of the included material is previously unreleased, offering a deep survey of contemporary noise and minimal electronics. Presented as a digital release with a cover painting by Daniele Santagiuliana, the project reinforces the label's commitment to documenting both established and emerging voices in the post-industrial underground.
