Gentle Hum

Gentle Hum marks the second full-length collaboration between Berlin-based electronic artists Ah! Kosmos and Hainbach, arriving in 2026 as a follow-up to their 2023 debut, Blast of Sirens. The project unites the distinct practices of Istanbul-born composer Başak Günak, known for her multidisciplinary sound art and theater scores, with Stefan Goetsch, a specialist in experimental synthesis and the musical repurposing of vintage test equipment. Across fourteen tracks, the duo constructs a series of haunting and melancholic soundscapes that bridge the gap between electroacoustic experimentation and ambient techno. The album’s sonic palette is defined by a meticulous blend of analog synthesizers and salvaged laboratory gear alongside traditional instrumentation such as piano, organ, and cello. Released on LP, CD, and digital formats, the work reflects the artists' shared interest in texture and restraint, utilizing voice and found sounds to deepen its eerie atmosphere. Situated within a year of significant activity for Günak, including residencies at the Akademie der Künste and Ina GRM, the release reinforces the pair's standing in the contemporary Berlin experimental scene.
