Laborobiginis

The Italian experimental project Tam Quam Tabula Rasa, a fixture of the Ligurian industrial scene since the late eighties, saw the digital return of their foundational work Laborobiginis in 2024. Originally released in 1989 as a cassette on the ADN Tapes label, the album captures the early collaborative efforts of members Luca Ferrarini, Marco Berisso, Paolo Gentiluomo, and Roberto Soprani. The eleven-track collection is a dense exploration of ritual ambient and sound collage, characterized by the bleak, drone-heavy atmospheres that defined the group's output in Rapallo. Compositions such as Locus Morbi and In Articulo Mortis utilize abrasive industrial textures and dark ambient layers to create a sense of profound sonic decay. This 2024 edition, issued through the Nostalgie de la Boue imprint, preserves the hour-long duration of the original recording for a modern audience. As a significant document of the Italian underground, Laborobiginis situates the project’s historical noise experiments within the broader context of contemporary sound design.
