NIGHT GRAPHICS I-IV

NIGHT GRAPHICS I-IV is a 2025 digital album by eumourner, released through the Porto Alegre-based netlabel M I S T. The project continues the artist's exploration of bleak, atmospheric soundscapes, following previous works such as Gargoyle and Trakl Trauma Tracks. Across four tracks, the trio of Francesco La Cava, Gherardo Zauber Pierantoni, and Michele Venturi utilizes a dense array of instrumentation, including theremin, winds, percussion, and processed samples to construct a dark drone and industrial environment. The release is conceptually grounded in graphic references, with each movement corresponding to the visual works of specific artists: Henry Fuseli, Léon Spilliaert, Odilon Redon, and František Kupka. Notably, the third track, The Crying Spider, appears here as an alternative version of a piece originally contributed to a Music Analysis Discussions compilation in late 2024. Situated within the 2025 dark ambient landscape, the album exemplifies the ritualistic and eerie aesthetic championed by the M I S T label. The result is a disciplined exercise in sound design that bridges the gap between classical visual symbolism and contemporary noise.
