Alone in the Hollow Garden, the Bucharest-based project of multi-instrumentalist Dan Serbanescu, returns in 2026 with the eight-track album Theriomorphic Temples. Initially conceived as a ritualistic counterpart to his work in Tanz Ohne Musik, the project has spent over a decade refining a sound that blends modular synthesis with esoteric field recordings. The album continues this trajectory, utilizing organic loops and ceremonial percussion to explore themes of primal transformation and ancient symbolism. Situated within the dark ambient and ritual electronics tradition, the release employs a mix of analog textures and subterranean drones to construct a cohesive occult narrative. As a fixture of the Romanian experimental scene, Serbanescu’s work here reaffirms his project's dedication to the crossing of sound art and esoteric practice.
