Opad

Opad is a significant entry in the discography of Uhushuhu, a drone-ambient project currently based in Dilijan, Armenia, and founded by Pavel Dombrovsky. Originally established in Saint-Petersburg, the project has evolved from a collective into a duo featuring Dombrovsky and Liliia Akivenson, both of whom are active members of the Petrograd Drone Gathering and Utrovortu community. Uhushuhu is recognized for a signature sound that builds from dense, drastic synthesizer hums and drone loops, incorporating guitar modulations that eventually dissolve into intricate natural and industrial soundscapes. Released in March 2026, Opad continues the project's exploration of evocative, layered textures that balance abstract sonic experimentation with a tangible, emotional weight. The album reflects the duo's established methodology of utilizing field recordings, synthesizers, and effects to create immersive, long-form compositions.
